Rashi Arya-Blankenship is a 2010 Cum Laude graduate from Stetson University College of Law. She graduated with a Concentration in Trial Advocacy. Rashi graduated in the top twenty percent of her graduating class and was awarded the prestigious National Order of Scribes Award for outstanding legal writing. She was also awarded the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award and a Stetson Law Leadership Development Certificate. Rashi was recognized in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges 2010 edition.
Rashi served as a Federal Judicial Intern for the Honorable Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich, United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Rashi interned at Gulfcoast Legal Services in St. Petersburg as a Civil Immigration Law Clinic Intern. She was also a Prosecution Clinic Intern for the State Attorney's Office, Sixth Judicial Circuit Pinellas County, in both the Juvenile & Misdemeanor Divisions.
While at Stetson, Rashi was a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honors Fraternity, and served as secretary for "SALSA" - South Asian Law Student Association. Rashi was a Stetson Ambassador - a leadership role representing Stetson University College of Law at community functions, conferences, competitions and mentoring students. Between her studies, internships and pro-bono commitments, Rashi also worked as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant for Professor Catherine J. Bohl.
For her undergraduate education, Rashi attended the University of South Florida. She graduated in 2000 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Criminology. In 2001 she attained her double major and graduated with a degree in Criminology. Rashi was awarded an Outstanding Achievement Certificate. While at USF, Rashi was a member of "LAE" - Lambda Alpha Epsilon, American Criminal Justice Association, and "ISA" - International Students Association.
After attaining her Bachelor's but before going to law school, Rashi worked as a Field Hearing Officer for the Bureau of Administrative Reviews, Florida Dept. of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles. She worked in a quasi-judicial position conducting Formal Review Hearings for DUI License Suspensions, and Hardship License Hearings for suspended drivers. In 2007, Rashi was honored as a "HOOTY" - she was awarded Hearing Officer of the Year 2006 in her region for her dedication and excellence in her work. Before working as a Hearing Officer, Rashi worked as a Child Protective Investigator for the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
