What if I do not live in the lawyer's area? Can they still defend me in a consumer protection lawsuit?

A lawyer is generally licensed to represent clients in the entire state. However, many lawyers prefer to limit their practice to just the county they live in or several surrounding counties. Nowadays, it's a little easier for attorneys to represent clients outside of county because so many of the courts allow for court call and telephonic hearings. It's something that's very common. For instance, we represent clients in the western state of Florida as well as central. There's occasionally times that we go to North and South Florida as well. We usually represent clients in usually about 8-10 counties or so surrounding Tampa.
