I'm being sued by one of my creditors and they are asking for a summary judgment. What is a summary judgement?

If you're being sued by one of your creditors and they're asking for a summary judgement, it's important that you take action quickly because that usually means that they are asking the court for a final judgment against you.

Once they have that final judgment they can proceed with collection, such as garnishing wages and freezing bank accounts. So if your creditor is asking for a summary judgment, you're going to want to speak with an attorney as soon as possible so that you can discuss your options such as bankruptcy, or debt settlement, or fighting the summary judgment in order to determine what's best for you.
